Dragonfly's Winter Tea Guide

06 Dec, 2017
As the cold weather sets in, we’re popping on the kettle and drinking lots of delicious tea to keep warm and hydrated. Take a look at some favourites that will be seeing us through the winter.

A hot cup of tea to start a chilly winter day

If, like us, you struggle to get out of a warm bed on a frosty winter's morning, drinking a cup of tea is a great way to put that spring in your step.

Our English Breakfast Tea is a full-bodied and invigorating blend that will help get you going and feeling ready for the day. For moments when lighter and more fragrant black teas are the thing, then our classic Earl Grey Tea infused with natural oil of bergamot and our Golden Himalaya Darjeeling with its hints of fruit and wild honey are both deliciously smooth. We like to drink them all without milk, alongside some lovely wholemeal toast or hot porridge to get us truly warmed up for the day ahead.

Teas for after a big meal

As the festive celebrations reach full swing, over-indulging in all our favourite foods is inevitable. A cup of herbal tea after dinner can often work wonders to help digestion and leave us feeling more balanced and relaxed.

Peppermint based teas have long been used as palate cleansers and our Organic Pure Peppermint can help revive after even the most indulgent of meals. Ginger has also been appreciated the world over for its digestive properties.

Tea with friends

Naturally caffeine free teas for bedtime

Like all of our herbal teas, rooibos tea is naturally caffeine free making it an ideal drink for any time of day, and particularly great later in the evenings. Rooibos comes from a different plant to traditional black and green teas and is a wonderfully gentle brew, packed with antioxidants and low in tannins.

When we're looking for something a little extra special, we reach for our smooth and velvety Vanilla Rooibos - rooibos tea infused with the finest Vanilla from Madagascar - or for our authentic Rooibos Earl Grey with natural oil of bergamot. For a delicious aromatic brew, our Cape Malay Chai Rooibos is made with warming spices including cardamom and cinnamon, and is perfect on a wintry evening sitting by the fire.

Teas to share with family and friends

A truly exquisite tea makes a perfect present for tea-lovers and we have some very special artisan teas that would make lovely Christmas gifts.

Our Tea House Collection features ten carefully crafted teas such our mellow Eastern Beauty Oolong. Each tea in the collection contains 20 large leaf tea pyramids of the finest quality.
