These flapjacks are the perfect storecupboard treat. Made with only four ingredients, they are sweet, sticky and full of oats. Comfort food at its best!
Preheat the oven to 180°C. Lightly grease a 20cm square tin.
Place the butter and sugar in a saucepan. Melt over a gentle heat and stir the sugar into the butter.
Turn the heat off and add in the golden syrup and porridge oats, mixing well to ensure the oats are entirely coated.
Transfer the contents into the greased baking tin. Use the back of a spoon to press the mixture into all corners of the tin and smooth the top.
Place in the centre of the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes or until the edges start to brown. The flapjack mixture will still feel soft to the touch but don't worry, it will firm up as it comes to room temperature.
While still warm and in the tin, cut into slices and allow to cool without removing.
When entirely cooled, take the flapjacks out and enjoy, ideally with a nice cup of Dragonfly Tea! Store in an airtight container.
