Take a tea journey at Compton Verney this summer
This summer, we are delighted to be sponsoring Compton Verney's brand new exhibition, A Tea Journey. Taking place at this magnificent gem of an art gallery in Warwickshire, the exhibition runs from Saturday 6th July until Tuesday 22nd October.
A Tea Journey will take you through time and across continents to learn about the fascinating world of the little green leaf and its journey from leaf to pot. The exhibition will combine rare, historic teaware from China, Japan and India with responses by many contemporary artists including Phoebe Cummings, Julian Stair and Edmund de Waal. As part of the experience, you can also explore The Tea Sensorium which will offer a multi-sensory appreciation of tea, from the leaf itself, and an opportunity to compare a variety of rare teas donated by Dragonfly, to make art inspired by tea, as well as workshops and discussions. Look out for our beautiful Jasmine pearls, as well as the Tea Clipper afloat on a sea of Dragonfly English Breakfast!
Dragonfly Tea's founder Bruce Ginsberg will be hosting two very special tea talks and tastings on Wednesday 17th July and Wednesday 4th September, where he'll discuss the ‘Mindful’ Art of tea drinking with his daughter, Dragonfly director Georgia. There will also be a garden party for families to enjoy on Sunday 18th August, filled with activities, workshops and plenty of delicious treats to enjoy!
The Compton Verney estate sits in 120 acres of stunning parkland designed by Lancelot Capability Brown and is situated in Warwickshire, just 9 miles from Statford upon Avon. There is a family friendly cafe on site and free parking.
