Eastern Beauty, also known as Oriental Beauty, is one of Taiwan’s most exclusive and unique Oolong teas. Oolongs are made from semi-oxidised leaves, giving them a complexity, richness and golden amber colour that balances elements of both green teas and black teas. Hand-harvested in the summertime, Eastern Beauty has a full and smooth character, with honeyed undertones of sundrenched fruit. The name is said to have originated in Victorian England, when a British tea merchant presented it to Queen Victoria herself. Enchanted by the sweet, mellow and elegant flavours, the Queen gave it her royal seal of approval, famously calling it 'Oriental Beauty'.
