Story in a Teacup competition in association with the Henley Literary Festival
For the last couple of months, we have been running our inaugural Story in a Teacup competition in association with the Henley Literary Festival, offering you the chance to combine tea and talent by creating your very own short story.
With over 200 entries received so far, and more coming through each day from keen new writers, the closing date of 31st August is now fast approaching. So for all of you bursting with imagination, this is your chance to sit down with a cup of tea, put your pen to paper and let your creativity flow!
All entries for the main competition must be a maximum of 3000 words and named after one of our delicious artisanal teas: Green Gaucho, Swirling Mist, Emerald Mountain or Moonlight Jasmine. We are also running a flash fiction competition, as well as a children’s competition based on the title Skinny Dragon, where budding young storytellers can dream up 500 words of fiction.
Submitted stories will be reviewed by our distinguished panel of judges – including Jojo Moyes, author of ‘Me Before You’, Helen Lederer, the Absolutely Fabulous star who recently published her first novel, and Lauren Child, author of the ‘Charlie and Lola’ series. The winning entries in each category will then be presented at the Henley Literary Festival in early October. To learn more about this competition and submit your story, visit our competition page
