After the resounding success of last year’s inaugural competition, we are excited to be holding 2016's Dragonfly Tea Short Story Competition in partnership with the Henley Literary Festival.
A celebration of the intriguing and magical world of tea, our theme this year is Discovery – from grand voyages to everyday encounters, from inspiring inventions to quiet epiphanies. Alongside this, there is also a children's competition with the theme of Adventure.
Open to all talented but as-yet-unknown writers, this year’s competition will be decided by a panel of outstanding judges including Sandra Parsons, Literary Editor at the Daily Mail, writer and comedian, Helen Lederer and acclaimed short story writer Irenosen Okojie. Judging our children's categories will be Baroness Floella Benjamin and Hugless Douglass creator David Melling. Short-listed entrants will be invited to a special prize giving ceremony at the festival on Sunday 2nd October 2016, where the judges will announce the winners.
So put the kettle on, and let your imagination take flight!
